Minister of Defense Offers Gifts to Cahul Children



CHISINAU, December 19, 2011 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta visited Monday, December 19, the Boarding School for Deaf Children from Cahul.

On the eve of winter holidays, the Christmas and the New Year, the minister offered school supplies, sweets and fruits to the children studying at this boarding school. Vitalie Marinuta told them the New Year is a symbol of hope and change and wished them peace.

“On the eve of Christmas, one of the most beautiful holidays of Christianity, marking the birth of God, and on the New Year’s Eve, I would like congratulate you and wish you health, happiness, a good year and the accomplishment of all your dreams”, Vitalie Marinuta said.

“The children of our school like winter holidays very much. Each time when the representatives of the Ministry of Defense visit us, we know they come with a surprise”, Olga Apostu, director of the Boarding School of Cahul stated. To honor the guests, the headmistress and the children of the institution recited poems, sang carols and presented Christmas sketches.

The Ministry of Defense started supporting the Cahul Boarding School in 2003 both from the financial and organizational points of view.

The school hosts nearly 300 deaf children aged 7 to 18 years old.
