Military Municipal Center Opens Renovated Building

CHISINAU, April 26, 2012 — The Chisinau Mayoralty allocated five million MDL for the capital renovation of a building of the Military Municipal Center, opened Thursday, April 26, on the Recruit’s Day.

Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta and the general mayor of Chisinau, Dorin Chirtoaca, cut the inauguration ribbon and then familiarized with the work conditions of the personnel. Vitalie Marinuta and Dorin Chirtoaca had a tour of the building and discussed with the medical personnel in charge of recruits’ examination during conscription.

The mayor of the Chisinau took advantage of the situation and passed a general medial check-up, beginning with the weigher and ending with the surgeon’s examination. Although the mayor did not do the military service because he studied in Iasi and then in Bucharest, he said he would have been happy to join the military, mainly given the fact the doctors declared him able to do the military service.

“I think this project is a direct investment to improve the working conditions both for the military and civil personnel, as well as for the recruits of Chisinau”, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca stated. “Although the Mayoralty has had a low budget over the past few years, we managed to find the necessary money to achieve this goal and create adequate conditions for the 21th century. I would like to congratulate the employees of the center on this event and I salute the fact our citizens will get better working conditions”.

The Minister of Defense thanked the Mayoralty of Chisinau for the capital renovation of the building and wished the recruits from Chisinau much will, trust and resistance while in the army.

“Since today, 71 young men from Chisinau will be conscripted to the National Army, I wish you to wear the military uniform with honor, have a good behavior and never forget the oath they made to the Republic of Moldova nation”, the Defense Minister stated.

This springs, the Military Municipal Center will conscript 200 young men from Chisinau. According to the national legislation, military conscription is held four times a year. The Military service in the Armed Forces lasts 12 months.
