Ministry’s of Defense Summer Camp Opens Its Doors



CHISINAU, June 18, 2012 — The Ministry’s of Defense Summer Camp from Vadul lui Voda opened Monday, June 18, its first ten-day tour for 70 children of military and civil employees of the National Army.

According to the Head of the Central Military Hospital, Col. Vladimir Trofimov, this summer, the camp will have six tours for children aged 7 to 15 years old. Trofimov said the entire vacation in the summer camp costs 1370 MDL. The children of military and civil employees of the National Army will pay 400 MDL per 10 days, col. Trofimov stated.

In his turn, the Head of the Summer Camp, 1st Lt, doctor Alexandru Popovici of the Central Military Hospital, said that this year, the agenda of the camp will consist of ship trips down the Dniester River, sports and entertainment activities, discipline classes and other activities. Children will also compete with children from other summer camps within some sports competitions and intellectual games, as they did last year.

According to Popovici, about 15 people work daily for the sake of children in the camp, which is quite enough to make their time pleasant and interesting. “We have three cooks, 2 sports instructors, a doctor, sanitary personnel, 3 high-skilled educators, that have been working here for 2 years already, as well as students of Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy of the Armed Forces, that will be working this year as instructors”, the head of the Ministry’s of Defense Summer Camp stated.

In 2011, about 300 children spent their summer holidays at Vadul lui Voda camp.
