Independence Day Marked Beforehand in Criuleni



Chisinau, August 22, 2012 — Over 450 children and young people spending their holiday at Cristiano Summer Camp from Slobozia-Duşca, Criuleni, attended the flash mob “Republic of Moldova — 21 years of independence”, organized by the Military Mass-media Center of the Ministry of Defense, in partnering with Radio Moldova.

According to 1st LT. Denis Rotaru, Head of Radio/TV Department of the Military Mass-Media Center, the action called “Independence Day in a Summer Camp” aimed at developing youth’s patriotic values, knowing history and events to mark Republic of Moldova’s Independence Day.

The director of “Cristiano” Summer Camp, Oleg Ogor, stated the history of the Republic of Moldova begins with its independence and each citizen should be aware of the activities prior to this important event. “I was very pleased by the children’s knowledge within the question-answer contest on the above issue. This fact proves that our efforts in educating the young generation is of good use”, Ogor stated.

During the event, the pupils got acquainted with the new samples of military uniforms, watched some techniques of firearm assembly and disassembly, as well as a program of wrestling exercises presented by Fulger Special Forces Battalion.

The event “Independence Day in a Summer Camp” was held for the second time in the country. The first edition was organized at Ivancea Summer Camp, Orhei district.
