National Army Commander Attends First School Day Event



Chisinau, September 3, 2012 — The Chief of Main Staff, Commander of the National Army, Brigadier Gen. Vitalie Stoian attended today the first school day event held at Olimp High School of Costesti, Ialoveni.

The Commander of the National Army congratulated the pupils and the teaching staff on the event wishing them success and assiduity in the new year of studies.

Gen. Stoian called the pupils to work hard in order to get good strong knowledge. “The Republic of Moldova and the National Army need to have literate citizens able to build a bright future for our country and this may be obtained only by studying with much effort, ambition and commitment. The future belongs to those who have the book as a friend”, Gen. Stoian said.

Vitalie Stoian wished teachers only good and grateful pupils and thanked them for their hard work.

The Chief of Main Staff specified that this year, the first school day has a double meaning. “Today, we also mark the National Army Day. The school and the army are two institutions meant to educate the feeling of patriotism of the young generation”.

This year, 380 thousand pupils attended the first school day events all over the country.
