Logistic Training for the National Army

Chisinau, September 12, 2012 — The National Army servicemen attend the sixth part of the “Multinational Logistics Workshop” organized September 11-14 by the US Joint Forces Command.

According to Col. Veaceslav Balatel, interim Commander of the Logistics Command, the workshop is a follow-up of the first stages of the course held February 2012, where Moldovan servicemen studied NATO logistics, principles, policies and the organization of the logistics system in a multinational environment, as well as the support in implementing partnership goals.

Col. Balatel specified the first stages of the course familiarized the National Army experts with the US and NATO logistics, land, air and navy forces logistics, principles and policies of operational planning and NATO logistics. During the sixth part of the workshop, they will identify some possibilities of logistics support for the National Army, as well as legal aspects of planning and organizing it.

The interim Commander of the Logistics Command stated such workshops are useful for the National Army servicemen given the large theoretical and practical experience American experts have in international missions. Thus, Moldovans will be able to apply such good practices in the logistics system of the National Army at the strategic, operational and tactical levels.

The “Multinational Logistics Workshop” has been held twice a year since 2010. The course is meant for military personnel dealing with the logistics issues of the National Army.

The next few stages of the “Multinational Logistics Workshop” will be held in 2013.
