Military Students Win the Minifootball Championship

CHISINAU, September 18, 2012 — The team of Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy of the Armed Forces won the Cup of the National Army Minifootball Championship.

Alexandru cel Bun Academy was followed by Dacia Brigade from Cahul (2^nd position). The third prize was won by the members of Stefan cel Mare Brigade team from Chisinau."

During the awarding ceremony, the finalists have got medals and diplomas for their performances. The winner of the competition was awarded the National Army Mini-Football Championship Cup.

According to LTC Vasile Olednic, Chief of National Army Sports and Physical Training Service, the event brought together 13 football teams from Chisinau, Balti and Cahul military units.

The source specified the best player of the championship was Capt. Dorin Orgheian of Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy of the Armed Forces. Two members of Fulger Special Forces Battalion, E5 Ivan Cojocar and 2^nd Lt. Adrian Lotca, won the titles of the best gatekeeper and the best goalkeeper of the competition.

The National Army Mini-Football Championship is held yearly. The competition aims at promoting sound living, training servicemen’s physical skills and building team spirit.
