Mission Complete for Mass-media!



Chisinau, September 30, 2012 — The equidistant and objective coverage of military issues may be achieved only by fair understanding of the National Army’s missions and this fact means being aware of the army’s life the way it is, Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta stated during the closing ceremony of the project “Mass-media — 24 hours in the National Army”, carried out at Bulboaca Military Training Ground.

The Minister of Defense appreciated the quick response of the media institutions of the country to the initiative of the military institution that deployed to the event female-journalists in charge of covering the military area. “I hope that the 24 hours spent on Bulboaca Military Training Ground along with the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion will be of great use for your further activity and that this will help you provide high-quality news about the army life”, minister Marinuta said.

In his turn, LTC Roman Ceban, Commander of the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion, stated that the commitment, the efforts and motivation the participants in the project showed throughout 24 hours in the National Army helped them carry out their missions with success. “The lack of initial military training caused some minor difficulties in the initial stage of the project. However, the difficulties were overcome and the trained journalists fulfilled their missions by the book and in compliance with the established program”, LTC Ceban said.

The project “Mass-media — 24 hours in the National Army” held September 29-30, brought together female journalists from 11 media institutions of the country such as: PRO TV, Publika TV, Jurnal TV, PRIME, Moldova 1, MIR, N4, Adevarul, Radio Moldova, Moldova.org and Gagauz TV/Radio Public Company GRT.

The scenario of the project included such elements as: medical investigation, equipment, transportation by the military means of transport to the destination, tent arrangement, accommodation, theoretical and practical lessons on shooting techniques, general tactics, medical-military training and shooting the infantry weapons of the National Army.
