Recruit’s Day for Young Men from Riscani Sector of Chisinau



CHISINAU, October 9, 2012 — The Chisinau Military Center (CMC) will enlist over 200 young men this autumn. The Mayor’s Office of Riscani sector, in partnering with the Ministry of Defense, organized the recruit’s Day for 44 of them at the Memorial “Feciorii Patriei — Sfinta Amintire” (Sons of the Motherland — Holy Memory).

According to the Commander of Chisinau MC, Col. Vitalie Barcari, before that, those 44 young men from Riscani sector were familiarized with the requirements of the military service in the Armed Forces, the army life conditions, as well as the facilities conscripts usually have upon completion of service. “The army gives you the possibility to get the noble profession of a service member, as well as the change to study for free at the institutions of higher education”, Barcari said.

“I hope that you will do your duty with honor and the pupils of the 12th form currently attending this event will follow your example in order to make their parents and relatives proud of their performances”, Burcari specified.

The program of the event included wrestling exercises, weapon handling techniques presented by the Guard of Honot, as well as a concert of patriotic songs presented by the orchestra of Stefan cel Mare Brigade and national singers.

At the end of the event, the representatives of the Municipal Military Center, in common with the General Mayoralty and the Riscani Sector Mayor’s Office offered the young recruits personal hygiene staff necessary in the first month of military service.

In the first half of 2012, 1780 young men were enlisted, including 1150 — in the National Army and 630 — in the Carabineer Troops. In the second half of the year, the same number of young men is to be conscripted to the army.

According to the national legislation, the military conscription is held four times a year. The military service in the Armed Forces lasts 12 months.
