National Army Service Members Plant Three Thousand of Trees and Bushes



CHISINAU, October 27, 2012 — National Army military and civil staff of all military units planted Saturday, October 27, trees and bushes within “Un arbore pentru dainuirea noastra” (A Tree for Our Perpetuation) event dedicated to the National Afforestation Day.

Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta, along with over 100 military and civil employees of the Ministry of Defense and National Army Main Staff, planted about 500 trees in Telecentru sector of Chisinau.

The National Army staff planted trees and bushes all over the country. Thus, about 1400 service members different species of trees in Chisinau, as well as in Balti, Cahul and Ungheni military garrisons.

At the same time, the students of Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy of the Armed Forces carried out cleaning and afforestation actions on a four-hectare area on the Bic River.

The National Army military and civil staff planted about 3000 trees and bushes on the National Afforestation Day. Since 1995, National Army servicemen have planted about 70 thousand trees and bushes thus recovering over 100 hectares of forest.
