Children Visit Ministry of Defense

Chisinau, March 13, 2013 — The Ministry of Defense started March 13 the military patriotic information and education project of Republic of Moldova children that aims at raising young generation civic awareness, as well as the transparency of the defense institution in the society.

The first children to take part in this project were the pupils of kindergarten school No.152 “Pas cu pas” (Step by step) from Chisinau. They visited today the Museum of the National Army, the exhibition of weapons and equipment — displayed at the National Army Main Staff, as well as the Rulers’ Alley, the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Defense. The children also had a face-to-face discussion with acting minister Vitalie Marinuta.

Minister Marinuta welcomed the children to the defense institution headquarters. He also gave them the anniversary album of the National Army and a flag with the Ministry’s of Defense symbols on it. Minister Vitalie Marinuta said that by this action, the National Army intends to encourage the patriotic education of the young generation. “We want to actively train children in term of patriotism, a value that is ignored by the society, develop our state and be proud of that. Let’s not forget the future and the hope of our nation are the children”, acting minister Marinuta said.

Nadeja Issa, teacher of School No. 152, said the visit of 25 little children was quite entertaining for them. Throughout three hours, they found out what the National Army is, what happens in a state institution in charge of defense system management process and what a soldier’s most important qualities are.

The Ministry of Defense carries out military-patriotic activities for children and students of our state every year in all the districts of the Republic of Moldova.
