Peacekeepers Win Mini-Football Competition



Chisinau, April 23, 2013 — Servicemembers of 3rd Infantry Battalion of Peacekeeping Forces won Mini-football Tournament Cup dedicated to the memory of Boris Dovgani, hero fallen in 1992 Dniester War, held in Cosnita, Dubasari.

Col. Vitalie Bujoreanu, deputy commanding officer of the Moldovan contingent, representing constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova, said that the competition brought together nine teams from Dubasari and Criuleni districts.

According to the results of matches, peacekeepers won the first prize of the event — the championship cup. The teams from Cocieri village, Dubasari, and Dubasarii Vechi village, Criuleni, won second and, respectively, third places.

The quoted source stated that Maj. Emil Gutu, one of the members of the peacekeepers’ team, was declared the best goal scorer of the championship.

The sports event was organized by the local public authorities from Dubasari district jointly with the sports school and entrepreneurs from the region.

The Mini-Football Tournament dedicated to the memory of Boris Dovgani is held for the 14th time.
