Defense Minister Congratulates Army Medical Staff



Chisinau, June 14, 2013 — Defense Minister Vitalie Marinuta awarded diplomas on behalf of the Government of Republic of Moldova and military distinctions to representatives of the National Army medical corps within a ceremony held, today, at the Outpatient Clinic.

The awards were given, on the Doctor and Pharmacist Day, to active duty and reserve medical staff, as a sign of high appreciation and recognition of merit in the work they perform in the National Army.

Vitalie Marinuta thanked the medical employees of the army for contribution to strenghtening health of military and civilians and appreciated their performance in their daily activity. “The quality of your work is appreciated both, by your military and civilian patients. I congratulate you for the accurate job you do in hospitals, military units and training areas. Due to you, the military medicine has an honorable place in the national medical system”, Vitalie Marinuta said.

According to Col. Gheorghe Antoci, Head of Medical Control and Organization Department of the General Inspection Directorate, the National Army has five healthcare institutions and units. More than 600 medical specialists work there, including 190 doctors.

The source said that each military unit has a medical service with 5-6 doctors and nurses.
