Military Students Take Military Oath

Chisinau, August 24, 2013 — First year students of Military Academy of the Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” took the military oath today within a ceremony held at Maica Indurerata Monument of “Eternitate” Memorial from Chisinau.

Deputy Minister Igor Panfile congratulated the 68 students on their oath. The official asked them not to forget that their entire military career depends on their results. “You are the future of the National Army, promoters of change. Therefore, in four years, you have to be responsible, hard-working, invest in knowledge and realize that the future belongs to those who study hard. Only a well-trained professional officer corps can form a modern army adjusted to current requirements”, the Deputy Minister told the first year students.

The commander of Military Academy “Alexandru cel Bun”, Col. Mihail Buclis, stated that students admitted this year showed good knowledge and physical training level during the admissions exams. “I am sure that, throughout four years of studies, they will study hard and follow the current requirements of the national military education, in compliance with the international standards”, Col. Buclis said.

The oath ceremony brought together students’ relatives, leaders of the Ministry of Defense, Main Staff, war veterans and retired officers.

Students admitted at the Military Academy followed a three-week basic training course at Bulboaca Military Training Base, where they learned army rules, EOD science, and shooting techniques.

This year, 69 young people joined the military Academy, including ten women. 29 students will study infantry and per 20 — artillery and communications.

The length of studies at the Military Academy is four years.
