Moldovan Communications Specialists Attend Combined Endeavor 2013

CHISINAU, September 13, 2013 — National Army servicemen attend during September 13-26 the Partnership for Peace multinational exercise “Combined Endeavor 2013”, held on Algiers military training ground in Grafenwoehr, Germany.

According to Maj. Andrei Tincu, leader of the Moldovan contingent, “Combined Endeavor 2013” exercise aims at reaching an appropriate level of task, technical, software and information security compatibility through different automatic command and control information systems in humanitarian, peacekeeping and relief operations.

Maj. Andrei Tincu specified that “Combined Endeavor” is a great opportunity for Moldovan servicemembers to test the compatibility between the National Army communications and computer equipment and the one of NATO states and its partner countries. “Our participation at this exercise will help us improve our skills of communication and computer equipment use, as well as the use of defense information system at the international level to achieve the National Army goals”, the leader of the Moldovan contingent said.

The quoted source pointed out that, during the exercise, the Moldovan military will perform interoperability tests with communications and computer equipment, as well as attend training courses on intelligence and security, as well as radio communication.

This year, the exercise brought together representatives of over 40 countries. Republic of Moldova deployed 10 communication experts of the Communication and Information Systems Division, the Communication and Computer Center of the Main Staff, as well as the 22^nd Peacekeeping Battalion.

The National Army joined Combined Endeavor exercise in 1998 as an observer. In 1991, Moldovan servicemen actively engaged in the exercise.
