Cyber Security Reviewed at the Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, October 11, 2013 — For National Army servicemembers, cyber security is a topical issue of big importance and perspective, given the rich experience in the information technology and classified information operating systems, as well as measures taken to insure effective protection of this area, Defense Minister Vitalie Marinuta said within the round table “Cyber Security. Ways of Achievement”, held at the Ministry of Defense.

Minister Marinuta expressed his hope that the event, which is part of the series of activities held on the Cyber Security Month in the Government, will help determine potential cyber threats and identify ways of combating them both, inside the defense institution and other government structures.

According to the Head of E-Transformation Service of the Ministry of Defense, LTC Alexandru Buruc, the participants discussed about cyber defense policies and measures take in this area, trends of cyber defense in the military and industrial field and their impact on national cyber security, cyber defense in the public, private sectors and civil society. They also exchanged ideas on how to prevent threats in the information security area.

The source specified that the event brought together representatives of the Ministry of Defense Security Intelligence Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications, General Prosecution, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Special Telecommunications Center and Center for Digital Government.

The Cyber Security Month in the Government is held within the Cyber Security Month in Europe.
