ULIM Students Discuss with Defense Minister about Security and Defense



Chisinau, October 22, 2013 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta met with students of the Faculty of History of Free International University of Moldova (ULIM).

The event held at the Center of Military Culture and History aimed at informing and familiarizing future political scientists about the defense and security sectors, as well as reforms implemented by the Ministry of Defense.

Vitalie Marinuta said that the security and defense area is an issue of national important and all decision-making factors in our country should be aware of the fact that the reform in this area is not only the Ministry’s of Defense responsibility. This involves a variety of government institutions that should be aware of the role they have, by joining their efforts in achieving this goal.

Minister Marinuta invited students to join the army and engage in the defense institution’s development process. “The Ministry of Defense needs well-prepared young staff, in order to be able to continue our reforms and come with new ideas in an area which I consider a promising one”, minister Marinuta said.

The students discussed with the Defense Minister about the improvement of the military service image, neutrality status of Republic of Moldova, Moldovan soldiers’ participation in world peacekeeping missions and National Army’s perspectives of development.

The visit of students of ULIM’s Faculty of History at the Ministry of Defense is held yearly.
