National Army Servicemembers Participate at the National Afforestation Day Events
CHISINAU, October 25, 2013 — The National Army staff will plant about 2000 trees and bushes on Saturday, October 26, as part of the National Afforestation Day.
According to the information provided by the Head of Ecological Section of the Logistics Command, LTC Mariana Grama, servicemembers of Chisinau Garrison, including the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and Main Staff of the National Army, will plant more than 1000 trees in Telecentru district of the capital city.
The quoted source also stated that other 1000 trees will be planted by the servicemembers of Balt, Cahul and Ungheni garrisons. The military staff will also clean the territory from the neighborhood of their military units.
Since 1995, National Army servicemembers have planted 73 thousand trees and bushes, thus recovering more than 100 ha of woods.
