National Army Marks Women’s Day



Chisinau, March 8, 2014 — The military and civil women of the National Army celebrated International Women’s Day within a ceremony held at the Center of Military Culture and History.

Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Col. Igor Gorgan, thanked women for commitment in fulfilling their daily missions and service within units.

Col Gorgan also awarded diplomas of honor to a group of women. At the same time, on the International Women’s Day, all servicewomen and female civil employees of the National Army were offered money for high service performances.

As part of Women’s Day events, the presidential orchestra “Doina Armatei” folk Band, as well as famous singers from Republic of Moldova, performed within a show held at the Center of Military Culture and History.

There are currently about 1,300 servicewomen and female civilian employees in the National Army.
