Moldovan – Georgian Meeting at the Ministry of Defense
Chisinau, July 18, 2014 — Minister of Defense, Valeriu Troenco, met with the new Georgian ambassador to Republic of Moldova, Merab Antadze.
Valeriu Troenco congratulated Merab Antadze on his accreditation as ambassador and wished him success throughout his mandate. The Minister of Defense expressed his confidence that the new Georgian official will contribute to intensifying the Moldovan-Georgian dialogue in all the areas, including the military.
“Georgia has got a rich experience in building and reforming the security and defense sector. Therefore, I consider appropriate to enhance the relationship between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova and Georgia, by initiating beneficial programs for both sides ”, Defense Minister said.
Merab Antadze stated that Georgia is a reliable partner for the Republic of Moldova, and the inline ministries would extend the bilateral cooperation, as soon as the Defense Cooperation Agreement is signed.
The parties congratulated each other on the signature of EU Association Agreement with Moldova and Georgia, specifying that both countries have a historic chance to make part of the great European family.
