Balti Hosts "Under Clear Sky 2014" Exercise (VIDEO)Chisinau, July 22, 2014 — Over 300 soldiers participate “Under Clear Sky — 2014” exercise, held within July According to the Commander of the exercise, Col. Veaceslav Rusu, the participants’ readiness to perform tasks in the Security Zone, as part of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces, is evaluated at this event. The soldiers carry out tactical peacekeeping missions at six training sites, patrol missions in the area of responsibility, negotiations for the release of hostages, evacuation of wounded, as well as resistance against attack. The program of the exercise also includes parachute jumps at an altitude of 3,937 feet, ammunition, radio stations and provisions dropping with parachutes from AN-2 aircraft flying at an altitude of 262 feet. Also, the soldiers carry out shooting drills using such National Army weapons as: submachine gun, grenade launcher, mine launcher, ZU-23-2 antiair artillery, MT-12 antitank gun, M-30 mortar, Veaceslav Rusu specified. The quoted source specified that the tactical exercise also brought together soldiers from the Carabineer Troops and representatives of the Security Intelligence Service. The Chief of Main Staff, Commander of the National Army, Col. Igor Gorgan, checked the readiness of soldiers that will be deployed to the Security Zone, for six months, as part of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces (JPF). On Wednesday, July 23, conscripts attending “Under Clear Sky” exercise, will be sent, to Peacekeeping Forces units from Cocieri, Cosnita and Varnita.
