Taekwon-Do World Champions Awarded by Minister of DefenseChisinau, August 8, 2014 — Defense Minister Valeriu Troenco awarded representatives of the Central Sports Club of the Army, who performed at the World Taekwon-Do Championship. The sportsmen were offered the “Distinguished Service” Cross, 3rdclass, “Service to Fatherland Medal”, 3rd class, and the Gratitude Insignia. Valeriu Troenco congratulated the team of fighters on the excellent performance within the Championship and specified that the achievements of the nine sportsmen are a big advantage both, for the National Army’s and the entire country’s image. The representatives of the Central Sports Club of the Army (CSCA), members of the national team of Republic of Moldova, won 16 medals at the World Taekwon-Do ITF Championship, held within July 23 — 28, in Rome. The nine military sportsmen won five gold, three silver and eight bronze medals. 536 sportsmen from 33 countries participated this year at the World Taekwon-Do ITF Championship. The team of Republic of Moldova was represented at the competition by 20 fighters, nine of which were from CSCA.
