Moldovan-French Cooperation Discussed at the Ministry of Defense



Chisinau, March 31, 2015 — Minister of Defense, Viorel Cibotaru, met today with Ambassador of France to Moldova, Pascal Vagogne. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Defense, Alexandru Cimbriciuc, the First Counselor of the Embassy of France to Moldova, Jeremie Petit, and the military attaché of France to Republic of Moldova, based in Bucharest, LTC Cristophe Midan.

The officials discussed about the Moldovan-French partnership in different fields, including the military one, and the future cooperation perspectives between Moldovan and French defense institutions.

Viorel Cibotaru thanked the officials for the support provided in training the Moldovan military within the Linguistic Centre of the Military Academy of the Armed Forces ,,Alexandru cel Bun", as well as for technical assistance and expertise in security and defense areas.

Pascal Vagogne appreciated Moldova’s participation in international peacekeeping operations. The French official expressed his belief that the partnership between Moldova and France will enhance.

The military cooperation between Republic of Moldova and France started in 1993.
