Moldovan Soldiers Take Part in ,,Saber Junction 15 “


CHISINAU, April 1, 2015 — A National Army contingent participates, within April 1 — 30, in the multinational exercise “Saber Junction 15”, held at the Military Training Center in Hohenfels, Germany.

According to Captain Constantin Cisleanu, commander of the Moldovan contingent, the National Army deployed over 20 soldiers of Special Operations Battalion ,,Fulger’’ and 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion at this exercise. The aim of the exercise is to train the troops in joint situations, typical of current operational environment, insure connectivity and interoperability, test and demonstrate the compatibility of operational procedures and military capabilities of NATO and partner countries.

Constantin Cisleanu mentioned that Moldovan officers and non-commissioned officers, together with soldiers from other contingents, will plan, lead and carry out peacekeeping missions in specific operational environment.

,,Saber Junction 15″ takes place simultaneously in Germany, Italy, Lithuania and Romania. The exercise brings together 4,700 soldiers from Albania, Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Sweden and USA.
