The exercise is organized by the United States Army Europe (USAREUR) and aims to train the troops for participation in peacekeeping missions. “Combined Resolve IV” brings together contingents from Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy, Latvia, Romania, the USA, Republic of Moldova, Serbia, and Montenegro, with a total of 4,700 servicemembers. The exercise includes virtual trainings, as well as an operation with real ammunition.

According to the National Army contingent Commander, Capt. Veaceslav Bunduchi, the 35 professional soldiers will be deployed to the Military training center in Hohenfels. The Moldovan troops, together with their colleagues from other partner states, will carry out different missions: patrol, medical evacuation, and guard at checkpoints.

The source specified that, before deployment, the Moldovan contingent was inspected at the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” by Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan.

“Combined Resolve IV” is held within May 1 — June 26, at the Military training centers from Hohenfels and Grafenwöhr, Germany.
