New Czech Defense Attaché to Republic of Moldova



CHISINAU, May 22, 2015 — Ambassador of Czech Republic to Moldova, Jaromir Kvapil, presented today the new Czech defense attaché to our country based in Kiev, Col. Pavel Kelbl, to Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan.

The National Army Commander congratulated Col. Pavel Kelbl on his appointment and wished him success in his mandate. Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan expressed his confidence that the new military attaché will be able to enhance the military cooperation between Czech Republic and Moldova.

Col. Pavel Kelbl said this is his first visit to Chisinau and that it is an honor for him to be appointed as Czech military attaché to Republic of Moldova. Col. Kelbl stated that he will make every effort in order to strengthen the Moldovan-Czech dialogue and to start joint projects that would benefit the armies of the two countries.

Col. Pavel Kelbl graduated from the Technical Military University, telecommunication specialty. He holds a post graduation diploma in communications. Col. Kelbl was a Commander within the Main Staff of Czech Army and the Czech Ministry of Defense, as well as a military attaché to Austria.

The former Czech military attaché to Republic of Moldova was Col. Jiri Kares.

The diplomatic relations between Moldova and Czech Republic were established on February 23, 1993, while the Moldovan-Czech military cooperation started in 1998.
