Anniversary at the National Army Topographic CenterCHISINAU, May 28, 2015 — National Army Topographic Center marked its 23rd anniversary within a ceremony. The event brought together National Army veterans, former commanders and servicemembers of the unit. Col. Iurie Bruma, interim Commander of Land Force Command, congratulated the Topographic Center staff and mentioned that over the past two decades of activity, the military topographers carried out an impressive number of topogeodesic and cartographic projects, which contributed to the improvement of the national topographic system. During the ceremony, the unit’s military and civil employees were awarded medals and diplomas. The Military Topographic Center was founded on May 28, 1992. The mission of the unit is to supply the National Army Main Staff and military units with maps and geospatial data, carry out field topographic measurements and insure topogeodesic support of troops.
