OSCE Mission to Republic of Moldova and Ministry of Defense Organize Ammunition and Weapons Stockpile Management Course



CHISINAU, June 11, 2015 — Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with OSCE Mission to Republic of Moldova, organize an Ammunition and Weapons Stockpile Management Course within June 10-26.

According to LTC Andrei Camerzan, Head of Ammunition and Weapons Service of the Logistics Directorate, the course includes theoretical and practical classes. The thirteen participants are from the National Army, Ministries of Internal Affairs and Justice, as well as Security Intelligence Service. They will learn the main security techniques at stacking and storing ammunition, ammunition storage management, ammunition fire fighting principles and procedures.

The source specified that, during the training at the National Army Military Training Ground “Bulboaca”, the participants performed the packaging and labeling of ammunition, as well as ammunition storage based on national and international standards.

LTC Camerzan mentioned that the classes are conducted by a group of National Army servicemembers who had been previously trained by experts from Austria, Canada, and Sweden on ammunition stockpile management.

The Ammunition and Weapons Stockpile Management Course is organized under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Defense and OSCE on the implementation of the Complex Program on Small Arms and Light Weapons and conventional weapons in Republic of Moldova, signed on the 28th of October 2010.
