Ammunition and Weapons Stockpile Management Practical Course Is Over



CHISINAU, June 25, 2015 — A group of 13 servicemembers from the National Army, Ministries of Internal Affairs and Justice, as well as Security Intelligence Service, received today the graduation certificates of the Ammunition and Weapons Stockpile Management Practical Course during a ceremony held at the Training Center of the National Army in Bulboaca. The event brought together representatives of the National Army Main Staff, OSCE Mission to Republic of Moldova and representatives of Austria and Germany.

According to LTC Andrei Camerzan, Head of J4 Ammunition and Weapons Service of the Logistics Directorate, the course included theoretical and practical classes. The participants familiarized with the main security techniques at stacking and storing ammunition, ammunition storage management, ammunition fire fighting principles and procedures. Also, at the Military Training Ground “Bulboaca”, the servicemembers performed the packaging and labelling of ammunition, as well as ammunition storage based on national and international standards. .

LTC Camerzan specified that the sessions were conducted by a group of National Army servicemembers who had been previously trained by experts from Austria, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden on ammunition stockpile management.

The Ammunition and Weapons Stockpile Management Practical Course, organized by the Ministry of Defense and OSCE Mission to Republic of Moldova, was held within June 10-26.

The activity is part of a training project on ammunition and weapons stockpile management organized under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Defense and OSCE on the implementation of the Complex Program on Small Arms and Light Weapons and conventional weapons in Republic of Moldova, signed on the 28th of October 2010.
