Minister of Defense Meets the New Military Attaché of Hungary



CHISINAU, October 9, 2015 — Minister of Defense, Anatol Salaru, metd today with the new military attaché of Hungary to Republic of Moldova, LTC Kalman Huse. The Minister of Defense congratulated LTC Huse on his appointment.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Republic of Moldova, His Excellency Matyas Szilagyi, and Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan.

The Minister of Defense reiterated the importance of bilateral Moldovan-Hungarian cooperation in the military sector. Thus, Anatol Salaru thanked the Hungarian officials for the scholarships offered to Moldovan servicemembers in military educational institutions in Hungary.

Another important subject mentioned by the Minister of Defense was the necessity to reform the National Army in order for it to be interoperable with armies of the NATO member-states.

On behalf of the Ministry of National Defense of Hungary, the Hungarian military attaché to Republic of Moldova confirmed the availability to initiate an assistance program offered by Hungarian experts in different relevant sectors.

At the end of the meeting, the officials expressed their confidence in the consolidation of the bilateral defense cooperation and the achievement of common set goals.
