Moldovan Service Members Continue Training within Multinational Exercise in Hohenfels



CHISINAU, February 25, 2016 — The contingent consisting of 43 National Army service members, deployed to “Mission Readiness Exercise” (MRE KFOR 21-3) in Hohenfels, Germany, continues training for a theater of operations, within the active stage of the exercise that has started on Wednesday, February 24.

According to the Commander of the contingent, LTC Adrian Efros, the Moldovan officers and NCOs carry out missions of patrol, crowd control, guard of checkpoints. The National Army contingent trains alongside troops from the USA, Portugal, Romania, Albania, Georgia, and Armenia.

The contingent’s EOD team trains on finding, identifying, and neutralizing explosive objects using metal detectors and multifunctional robots of the US Army.

The source added that the Moldovan soldiers also learn standard procedures of monitoring and evaluation of the units participating in the exercise.

“Mission Readiness Exercise” is conducted within February 10 — March 2, 2016 and aims at evaluating the units’ readiness for troop rotation within international peacekeeping missions.
