NATO Experts Discuss National Defense Strategy at Ministry of DefenseCHISINAU, March 16, 2016 — A group of NATO experts, responsible for offering assistance in the development of defense planning strategic documents , paid a working visit to the Ministry of Defense within March In this period, the experts met with State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, as well as with representatives of national institutions with defense responsibilities such as: Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finances, Ministry of Justice, Security Intelligence Service, and Supreme Security Council. During the meetings, the discussions regarded the experience of other countries in developing the national mechanism of defense planning and the role of inter-institutional cooperation within this mechanism, focusing on the development of the National Defense Strategy (NDS). The visit’s objective was to examine the draft of the National Defense Strategy (NDS) developed by the Inter-institutional Working Group (IWG) and to recommend on improvements to the developed document.
