Signal Unit Service Members Celebrate 24th AnniversaryCHISINAU, April 15, 2016 — The National Army Signal Battalion staff celebrated the unit’s 24th anniversary during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Defense HQ. At the event, Interim Chief of General Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Cutie, congratulated the soldiers who, always, show professionalism and maximum responsibility in carrying out the missions given by Army’s leadership. “The Signal Unit performs outstandingly at both national and international exercises, obtaining good results while providing technical support and communication and signal services, in order to ensure different types of connections in compliance with modern standards”, said Brigadier Gen. Cutie. According to Commander of Signal Battalion, LTC Alin Isac, currently, the unit prepares equipment and trains personnel for providing, in case of combat missions, the National Army command post or the command post of the force groups with communication and IT services, in order to ensure the information flow into the command and control system. The source specified that, over the past few years, the Signal Unit soldiers have participated, together with military from other armies, in multinational exercises, such as: “Combined Endeavor”, “Joint Effort”, “Peace Shield”, “Fire Shield”, conducted in Moldova and abroad. During the ceremony, a group of Battalion’s service members and veterans who served in the unit received diplomas for excellent service performance. The Signal Battalion, initially the Independent Signal Regiment, was established on April 17, 1992. |
