Over 460 Young Men Take Military Oath



 CHISINAU, June 23, 2016 — The young soldiers enlisted in the National Army in May, 2016 took their military oath today, during a ceremony held at “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade from Chisinau.

The event was attended by Minister of Defense, Anatol Salaru, service members from the National Army Commanding Officer Corps, and soldiers’ parents and relatives.

The Minister of Defense congratulated the 464 young men on taking their military oath and expressed his conviction that they will become model officers and the pride of their parents, commanders and Moldovan citizens.

“The Ministry of Defense leadership and the National Army believe that you will wear the military uniform with dignity, will respect the oath, and after a year of duty will be willing to keep serving Moldova”, stated Anatol Salaru.

During the ceremony, a group of unit’s soldiers presented square bashing and wrestling exercises. The guests also had the opportunity to familiarize with the Brigade’s military vehicles and weapons.

After taking the military oath, the soldiers get a four-day leave. Then, they will be distributed to the National Army units.

The mandatory military service in the National Army lasts 12 months.
