Japan Assigns New Military Attaché to the Republic of Moldova



CHISINAU, September 6, 2016 — The new military attaché of Japan to the Republic of Moldova, based in Kiev, Navy Captain Akihiro Hara, was presented today to State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Aurel Fondos.

Aurel Fondos congratulated the military official on his appointment and wished him success in his mandate.

State Secretary also informed Captain Hara about the activities conducted by the Ministry of Defense including the development of strategic documents, trainings, implemented social projects, National Army participation in peacekeeping operations, as well as the reform started by the defense institution’s leadership.

Akihiro Hara stated that he is honored to be appointed as military attaché to our country and will make every effort to build a partnership that will be beneficial to both armies.

Also today, Navy Captain Hara met with Chief of General Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Cutie. The talks concerned the military cooperation between the Japanese army and the National Army of the Republic of Moldova.
