National Army Soldiers Train in HohenfelsCHISINAU, October 20, 2016 — National Army service members participate in “Mission Rehearsal Exercise” (KFOR MRE 22) conducted at the Training area in Hohenfels, Germany, within October 20 — November 6, 2016. The contingent consists of 90 infantrymen and engineers and will train during theoretical and practical courses according to a scenario reflecting the Kosovo theater of operations. According to contingent’s Commander, LTC Andrei Taranu, the infantrymen will train on carrying out missions at checkpoints, crowd control, and patrol, while the Moldovan engineers will conduct EOD missions. “Mission Rehearsal Exercise” brings together soldiers from Albania, Armenia, Croatia, Germany, Georgia, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, the USA and aims to train the troops for international peacekeeping missions. The National Army has participated in military exercises in Germany since 2012.
