Romanian Expert Decorated at the Ministry of Defense

CHISINAU, December 8, 2016 — National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Cutie, awarded the Romanian expert, Col. dr. Craisor C. Ionita, with the medal “For Strengthening the Brotherhood in Arms”, as a sign of gratitude for the assistance offered in developing the Military Strategy of the Republic of Moldova (MS RM). The event took place today, at the Ministry of Defense HQ.

Brigadier Gen. Igor Cutie thanked Col. Ionita for the support offered in developing a strategic document of great importance for Moldova’s defense system, specifying that his experience is very valuable for the Ministry of Defense’s specialists, responsible for the MS RM.

Col. dr. Craisor C. Ionita said that, for him, it is an honor and a very special opportunity to share his knowledge in this sector. The Romanian expert expressed his availability to continue to support the Ministry of Defense in drafting an efficient and functional military strategy.

Col. dr. Craisor C. Ionita is paying a working visit to Chisinau within December 4-9, to provide assistance in developing the Military Strategy of the Republic of Moldova.

While in Chisinau, the Romanian expert will meet with specialists from the Ministry of Defense, National Army General Staff, Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun”, and the Carabineer Troops Department, responsible for writing the document.

The Military Strategy is developed according to the provisions of the Defense Capacity Building Initiative to which the Republic of Moldova adhered at NATO Summit in Wales, in September 2014.

The MS RM concerns the development of the Armed Forces and represents the medium-term Government’s commitments in this sector.
