Military Housing for Service Members from Cahul (video)

CHISINAU, December 22, 2016 — Today, 18 National Army service members from “Dacia” Brigade received military housing. The keys were handed by Minister of Defense Anatol Salaru during a ceremony organized on this occasion in Cahul.

Anatol Salaru mentioned that is a priority of the Ministry of Defense leadership to provide with housing all the officers and NCOs from the military garrisons. Thus, Minister Salaru added that he will make every effort to reach this objective.

According to Director of Facilities Management Department of the Ministry of Defense, Col. Sergiu Voinu the Ministry of Defense purchased 18 apartments in Cahul, as a result of a public and transparent competition (the results were published in the Official Gazette of RM, No. 338-341, as of 09.30.2016). The apartments have one and two rooms with areas ranging from 33 to 68 square meters and the total cost of the purchase was about 11 million lei.

The source specified that the apartments were offered to service members based on Law No. 75 as of 04.30.2015 regarding housing and Regulation on the method of providing housing administrated by Ministry of Defense and National Army military units, approved by Government Decision No. 874 as of 12.22.2015.

This is the second project on offering military housing to National Army service members. The first project took place in February, 2016, when 111 families of service members from Chisinau received military housing.
