Students from US Air War College Visit the Republic of Moldova
CHISINAU, March 3, 2017 — A group of students from the US Air War College conducted a documentation visit at the Ministry of Defense, where they met with representatives of the Ministry of Defense and National Army Commanding Officer Corps.
Deputy Defense Minister Gheorghe Galbura welcomed the American students’ interest in the Moldovan defense and security sector and expressed his conviction that this visit will improve their knowledge in the field.
“The defense institution is undergoing a wide reformation process aiming to review and consolidate the national defense system. This measure is the result of the regional crisis effects, as well as international events”, said Gheorghe Galbura.
Head of the Defense Policy and Planning General Directorate, Col. Alexandru Harea, informed the American student about the defense institution’s role and missions, as well as about the programs, projects, and initiatives in which the National Army is participating.
Col. Harea also spoke about the main results achieved by the Ministry of Defense in the military reformation, with a focus on the US support to the National Army through various programs of technical assistance and military training, thus propelling the defense sector reformation.
