State Secretary Aurel Fondos at OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation

CHISINAU, March 29, 2017 — State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Aurel Fondos, is attending a special session of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation, held on March 29, 2017, in Vienna, Austria.

The event is organized by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and its main topic is the management and control of small arms and light weapons (SALW) and conventional ammunition (CA).

According to LTC Andrei Camerzan, Head of the Weapons and Military Vehicles Department, the participation of Moldova in this event offers the opportunity to restart the consolidation of the cooperation with foreign partners in order to implement the National Army Action Plan regarding SALW and CA that was approved in February, 2017, at the High-level National Small Arms, Light Weapons and Conventional Ammunition Conference, organized at the Ministry of Defense.

The OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation is a weekly event aiming to approach the political-military aspect of security, including measures of trust and security building on international level. The Forum also provides a unique platform for the 57 members of OSCE to discuss the current security challenges.
