“Moldova” Brigade – 25 Years of Performance

CHISINAU, April 7, 2017 — “Moldova” Brigade from Balti marked today the 25th anniversary. The ceremony held in the military unit was attended by representatives of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and National Army General Staff, of the local public administration, veterans, pupils, and the Brigade’s entire military and civil staff.

Chief of General Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Cutie congratulated the unit’s staff and the veterans attending the event and mentioned the contribution of all the service members to the development and reformation of the Brigade. “During these 25 years, there would have been no performances in ‘Moldova’ Brigade without its professional staff, military and civil employees, who started reformations, implemented them and transformed the Brigade in a prestigious military unit for the country’s entire defense system”, stated Brigadier Gen. Cutie.

“Today, the Brigade’s officers and NCOs continue to carry out their missions gathering experience on training areas at home and abroad, within national and international exercises. I assure you, dear service members, that we will make every effort to continue to offer you these training opportunities. If we want a strong army that is interoperable with other countries’ armies, we must ensure that there are training conditions, at home and abroad”, added the National Army Commander.

During the event, a group of military and civil employees received National Army diplomas and medals.

“Moldova” Brigade from Balti was established on April 10, 1992, by Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova.
