Two National Army Units Celebrate Their 25th Anniversaries



CHISINAU, May 26, 2017 — The Military Topographic Center and “Decebal” Air Base from Marculesti celebrated today their 25th anniversaries within ceremonies attended by National Army veterans, former commanders, and service members.

At the event organized by the Topographic Center, Commander of Land Forces Command, Col. Mihail Buclis, congratulated the unit’s staff and appreciated the military topographers’ contribution in optimizing the national topographic system.

During the ceremony, the unit’s military and civil staff received National Army medals and diplomas.

The Military Topographic Center was founded on May 28, 1992. The unit’s mission is to contribute to National Army’s development by supplying it with high-quality topo-geodesic data and products.

In Marculesti, Commander of Air Forces, Col. Vadim Cemirtan, mentioned the contribution of the military and civil staff of “Decebal” Base to the development of Air Forces and defense of air space.

“Decebal” Air Base was established on May 28, 1992, by Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova.
