National Army Staff Trained on Procurement Integrity in the Defense Sector

CHISINAU, May 31, 2017 — The staff responsible for carrying out the National Army procurement procedures attended today the seminar “Procurement integrity in the defense sector” organized by the General Inspection Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.

According to deputy head of the General Inspection Directorate, Col. Anatolie Ceban, the activity was held with the support of the NATO International Secretariat and was focused on integrity building in the field of procurement of the defense sector.

The source specified that the civil and military employees of Facilities Management Department, Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun”, Central Military Hospital, Consultative Diagnostic Center, and military units of Chisinau garrison were trained by Emmanuel Huntzinger from NATO Political Affairs and Security Policy Division.

The seminar is part of a series of actions undertaken by NATO regarding the facilitation of understanding the corruption risks, their impact on defense institutions, as well as the identification of practical actions aiming to build integrity, increase transparency, and improve responsibility in the defense sector.
