Latvian Military Attaché in the Republic of Moldova Ends His Mandate



CHISINAU, June 15, 2017 — Deputy Defense Minister Gheorghe Galbura decorated today the military attaché of the Republic of Latvia in the Republic of Moldova, based in Kiev, LTC Zigmunds Balodis with an honor diploma, during a meeting at the Ministry of Defense. The diploma was offered for the efforts made in order to develop the bilateral cooperation and for the end of the Latvian officer’s mandate.

Thus, the Deputy Defense Minister appreciated the education and logistics support offered by the Government of Latvia to the National Army.

Gheorghe Galbura stated that the defense attaché Zigmunds Balodis had an important contribution in implementing the respective projects and thanked for the efforts made during his mandate for the National Army’s development.

LTC Zigmunds Balodis mentioned that it was an honor for him to be the military attaché in our country and highlighted the receptivity and professionalism of Moldovan colleagues in consolidating the cooperation between the two armies.

LTC Zigmunds Balodis was appointed defense attaché of the Republic of Latvia in the Republic of Moldova, based in Kiev, in May, 2015.

The Moldovan-Latvian military cooperation started in 2005.
