Military Academy Graduates Receive Their Diplomas



CHISINAU, June 24, 2017 — The graduates of the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” received today their diplomas and the military rank of “lieutenant” during a ceremony held in the Triumphal Arch Square.

Defense Deputy Minister Gheorghe Galbura congratulated the young lieutenants and welcomed them to the National Army ranks. “Today, a new stage starts for you — you become part of the National Army Officers Corps, an elite corps characterized by commitment, honor, and love for our Motherland”, said Gheorghe Galbura.

Deputy Minister Galbura stated that he is proud of the military students’ performance during the past four years. “I am sure that your parents, who are present here, also share this feeling. On behalf of the Ministry of Defense leadership, I want to thank them for the support offered in educating the students and, most importantly, to thank them for their children’s exquisite upbringing”, added the Deputy Minister.

During the ceremony, the best graduates — Maria Golban, Dorin Petrusca, and Alexei Hemei — received “Honors Service members Insignia”.

The class of 2017 has 58 graduates. They studied three specialties: infantry, artillery, and communications.

The Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” is a member of the Partnership for Peace Consortium and has two faculties: military science and public administration. The institution also has a center of defense and security strategic studies, a continuous training center and a Language Learning Center. Since 1992, over 1,760 officers graduated from this institution.
