Military Students Take Military Oath



CHISINAU, August 25, 2017 — First-year students of Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” took today the military oath during a ceremony held at the institution’s HQ.

Deputy Defense Minister Gheorghe Galbura congratulated the 55 students who joined the National Army and have chosen a military career. “You are the National Army’s future, the promoters of changes. Thus, during the next three years, you have the obligation and responsibility to be perseverant, to invest in knowledge and to understand that the future belongs to those who study. Only a well-trained officers corps is able to consolidate a modern army, adjusted to current exigencies”, said Gheorghe Galbura.

According to commander-rector of Military Academy “Alexandru cel Bun”, Col. Sergiu Plop, for the year of 2017-2018, the educational institution accepted 55 students, out of which 15 girls, who will study infantry, artillery, and communications.

The source added that, in August, the students attended a military integration course studying military regulation, square bashing, tactics and, at the end of the course, carried out shooting drills at the Military training base from Bulboaca.

During the three years of studying at the MAAF, the training, accommodation, equipment, and food are free for the military students.

Upon graduation, the students will receive the rank of “lieutenant”, the driving license cat. B, as well as a job in the National Army.
