Moldovan-Italian Meeting at the Ministry of Defense

CHISINAU, August 29, 2017 — Deputy Defense Minister Gheorghe Galbura met today with Ambassador of Italy in the Republic of Moldova, Valeria Biagiotti, at the Ministry of Defense HQ.

The officials discussed about the military cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Italy, regional situation, and other issues of mutual interest.

Deputy Minister Galbura thanked the Italian Government for the contribution to the development of the defense sector’s reformation process and for the logistics support offered to National Army contingents deployed to KFOR Mission.

Valeria Biagiotti was accompanied by Brigadier Gen. Salvatore Esposito who ended his mandate as military attaché.

On this occasion, Gheorghe Galbura decorated Brigadier Gen. Esposito with the medal “For Strengthening the Brotherhood in Arms”. The medal was offered for meritorious contribution to the development of cooperation between the two armies.
