The New Ambassador of Hungary at Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, January 30, 2018 — The bilateral military cooperation and the opportunities for its reinforcement, the development and modernization of National Army’s capabilities in the context of the defense sector’s reformation were the topics discussed by Minister of Defense Eugen Sturza and Ambassador of Hungary in the Republic of Moldova, Szabo Sandor.

Eugen Sturza informed the new ambassador about the regional situation and the Ministry of Defense’s priorities for this year that will focus on approving the defense policy documents, improving the National Army infrastructure, and increasing participation in international peacekeeping operations.

Minister Sturza also thanked the Hungarian official for the medical equipment that will be donated to the Central Military Hospital and for the scholarships offered to Moldovan service members in military institutions from Hungary.

The officials also discussed about the care of tombs and keeping alive the memory of war victims by opening monuments and funerary stones in our country.

Szabo Sandor agreed on continuing the cooperation in areas of mutual interest for the defense institutions of Hungary and the Republic of Moldova and on identifying new opportunities for cooperation.
