Service Members of the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion Organize a “Peacekeeper’s March” on Unit’s Day (video)

CHISINAU, May 11, 2018 — The service members of the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion organized the forced march “Peacekeeper’s March”. The action was held in the framework of the unit’s 19th anniversary.

According to Maj. Vladislav Draguta, 100 officers and noncommissioned officers of the Battalion participated in the march covering a distance of 22 kilometers and carrying backpacks weighing 22 kilograms.

The source specified that the service members started from the Training center of “Moldova” Brigade in Balti city, followed the route Elizaveta village — Biruinta village — Alexandreni village and returned to the training area.

During the awarding ceremony, National Army Commander, Brigadier General Igor Cutie, congratulated the participants for successfully fulfilling this mission. “Today, you are celebrating the Battalion’s Day in an unusual way — with a forced march while being equipped accordingly, thus meaning that you are still on duty. I am glad that you proved once more that you are well-trained, ready to fulfill every mission, and to face any challenge”, said Gen. Cutie.

This is the first time when the military of the 22nd Battalion celebrate the unit’s day by organizing a peacekeeper’s march.
