“European Night of Museums” Marked in Military Style

CHISINAU, May 20, 2018 — The National Army Museum organized an event in the framework of the European project “Night of Museums” on the night between Saturday and Sunday.

The activity included an art program consisting of theatre presentations, music performances, torch bearers’ gallery and a march with torches on the streets of Chisinau city.

During the event, General State Secretary, Radu Burduja, invited the guests to visit the National Army Museum more often so they could learn the military history.

This year, the European Night of Museums was organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Research and aimed to bring to the public’s attention the Museum’s collections, as well as to raise public awareness concerning the problems faced by the museums.

The European Night of Museums is an event started in 2005 by the Ministry of Culture and Communication of France and that is traditionally sponsored by the European Council, UNESCO, and the International Council of Museums (ICOM).

So far, over 3,000 museums across 47 countries from Europe and the entire world have adhered to the European Night of Museums.
